Weifang east Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. held a launch event for its new anti-corrosion marine engineering

2024-10-12

Weifang east Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. held a launch event for its new anti-corrosion marine engineering material project, with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons. Local leaders and key business representatives attended. The project includes the first "eco-clean steel surface and zinc-aluminum-magnesium fusion" production line globally and China's first "high-magnesium, high-aluminum rare earth alloy steel coil" line. This innovation, addressing key issues in corrosion resistance, revolutionizes steel processing and promises significant applications in new energy, construction, and engineering. The company aims to lead the industry in green manufacturing and anti-corrosion solutions globally.

At the press conference, the General Manager of Weifang Oriental Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. introduced the details of the new 300,000-ton anti-corrosion marine engineering material project. District leaders and company representatives officially launched the project. The Secretary of the District Committee, Liu Jinguo, and the Chairman of Weifang Oriental Steel Pipe, Li Letuan, unveiled the first coil produced under the new project.

As a key enterprise in Weicheng District, Weifang Oriental Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. has positioned this project as an industry leader in the steel anti-corrosion field. The company has established a digital workshop and built the world’s first “eco-clean steel surface and zinc-aluminum-magnesium fusion production line,” along with China’s first “thick plate high-magnesium, high-aluminum rare earth alloy corrosion-resistant steel coil production line.” The project focuses on producing zinc-aluminum-magnesium rare earth alloy anti-corrosion strip steel and pre-punched zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy anti-corrosion strip steel.

This innovation disrupts the traditional "rust removal after forming" model and marks a green revolution in the steel processing industry. Notably, the zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy anti-corrosion technology has reached international advanced levels, addressing a critical challenge in heavy marine anti-corrosion. The product has a wide range of applications, including new energy photovoltaic support systems, prefabricated buildings, electrical equipment, and engineering steel components, with a promising market outlook and significant economic and social benefits.

The project broke ground on January 6 of this year, and in just eight months, it has been successfully put into production, demonstrating accelerated project construction speed.
